In collaboration with Vibe, a Youth One Stop Shop (YOSS) – who provide a range of primary health and social support services for young people aged 10-24 years old in the Hutt Valley, VOYCE celebrated Youth Week. The tūhono was held in Lower Hutt – a free drop in event for rangatahi to come together for a range of fun teamwork activities, table tennis, air hockey, giant connect four, puzzles, origami, a photo booth and free kai!

So many things to do, and all of it so much fun! Our VOYCE team loved spending time with all of the young people who dropped by, and had fun joining in on the activities too.

One of the rangatahi who came along said that he ‘loved the event, especially the air hockey.’ Another young person arrived at 1.30pm and stayed all the way till 6pm – she shared that she liked ‘catching up with different friends from youth group, her church and VOYCE.’

Whānau care is where a child is being raised by someone in their whānau or extended family. Often it means a child living with their grandparents – but could also be another family member like an aunt, uncle or older sibling. Whāngai is the traditional Māori practice of whānau care.
