To kick off our virtual Tūhono we began with the VOYCE Weekly Challenges! Participants just had to flick us an email to receive a VOYCE weekly challenge pack which included a set of 5 weekly challenges and fun activities to complete before the end of the week. With new challenges being sent out every Monday for weeks, there was plenty to keep children and young people busy during the Alert Level 4.

All households had to do was email through photos or videos of their entries to go in the draw to win! Each week there was an overall winner that took home a $100 gift card of their choice, and some weekly standouts who took home a $50 gift card of their choice. Challenges included something creative, something physical, something thoughtful, something to do with the people you live with, or sometimes just something random and fun!

Week one featured some beginner challenges, including a photo challenge of something that makes you smile, a no handshake competition where you had to come up with a no-contact greeting, and a random act of kindness challenge. Our highlight though was the Haiku challenge where you had to write a haiku about your bubble, and loads of people had fun with Project Robot Rubbish, the challenge where you had to create a robot out of waste and upcycled pieces. Thanks, you everyone who got involved straight off the bat!
