We overcame this before and together will do so again.

VOYCE – Whakarongo Mai rose to the challenge the last time New Zealand had a COVID-19 shutdown and we are committed to doing so once again. We are prepared and ready –  have put considerable planning into the possibility of this scenario arising again – our teams now are putting these into action across our regional offices.

In Auckland, all our Kaiwhakamana are available and working remotely. The rest of our offices are open and operational, observing the Ministry of Health’s Level 2 guidelines.

During the last COVID-19 lockdown VOYCE’s commitment to children in care took on a special significance. To help reduce isolation, we activated a digital strategy, preparing a steady stream of virtual tuhono events to keep tamariki and rangatahi atawhai engaged, occupied and connected.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, the level of success we achieved as an organisation during the last shutdown was largely due the overwhelming support and positive engagement of caregivers. Once again we look forward to this continued support as we work together to ensure voices of our tamariki and rangatahi atawhai continue to be kept front and centre through this crisis.

This is a very dynamic situation on the ground, but you can be assured that VOYCE – Whakarongo Mai is monitoring the Ministry of Health’s guidance and will be acting accordingly in the days ahead. Stay safe and be kind.
