Voices at Velocity was an exciting youth-led event where tamariki and rangatahi took the lead! Young people from the care community came together to share their ideas on the kinds of events they want to see from VOYCE Ikaroa-Rāwhiti in 2025. Their voices were strong and proud, making sure our future events are fun, meaningful, and truly youth-driven.

After some awesome brainstorming, it was time to let loose at the trampoline park, where our young leaders (aged 5–15) showed off their energy and skills. It was amazing to see them connect, collaborate, and have a blast!

We loved hearing their ideas and can’t wait to put them into action. Their input will help shape events that matter to them – because at VOYCE, young people lead the way! Bring on 2025! 🌟🙌

Promise Two: Stability

Young people in care experience consistency, safety, and a sense of belonging.

Whānau care is where a child is being raised by someone in their whānau or extended family. Often it means a child living with their grandparents – but could also be another family member like an aunt, uncle or older sibling. Whāngai is the traditional Māori practice of whānau care.
