Get Involved

Getting involved with VOYCE can look like a lot of different things for different people. You may want support from a Kaiwhakamana, to attend a tūhono (event), be a member of a VOYCE Regional Youth Council, or just to come and have a chat with one of our staff members. There are heaps of different ways to be involved with VOYCE!

Getting involved with VOYCE

Regional Youth Council

VOYCE works in different regions throughout Aotearoa New Zealand, and each region has a Regional Youth Council, which is made up of about 5-10 young people who are all care experienced. They meet monthly, and do lots of awesome mahi (work) together. If you’d like to learn more about the Regional Youth Council in your area, email contactus@voyce.org.nz

Working with VOYCE

When you engage with any service, it’s super important that you’re asked to give ‘informed consent’. This means that you understand and agree to what’s involved and how your information will be kept safe.

It’s your choice whether to work with VOYCE, and you can change your mind any time. To help you make a decision about whether to work with us, check out our Informed Consent pamphlet.

Whānau care is where a child is being raised by someone in their whānau or extended family. Often it means a child living with their grandparents – but could also be another family member like an aunt, uncle or older sibling. Whāngai is the traditional Māori practice of whānau care.
