The Porirua and Lower Hutt ‘All Stars’ brought together 16 amazing rangatahi of all ages for an afternoon full of fun and connection! Hosted at Avalon Park and Aotea Lagoon, the event created space for rangatahi to hang out with friends and meet new faces—including some who were brand new to VOYCE!

The All Stars activities were all about teamwork, communication, and having a blast. Rangatahi worked together to tackle challenges, proving the power of collaboration. Others opted for a more chilled vibe in the shaded arts and crafts area—because with VOYCE, it’s all about challenge by choice!

We heard some awesome feedback from rangatahi who said they loved spending time with VOYCE and making new connections.

The Pōneke team is keeping the good vibes going with more monthly tūhono around Wellington! Next up: our Christmas-themed ‘Frosty Film Arvo’ on Monday, 18th December, at the Pōneke office. Stay tuned on our socials for more details—2025 is packed with even more exciting events and tūhono!

Whānau care is where a child is being raised by someone in their whānau or extended family. Often it means a child living with their grandparents – but could also be another family member like an aunt, uncle or older sibling. Whāngai is the traditional Māori practice of whānau care.
