JOIN OUR TEAM

Imagine working with some of New Zealand’s most precious taonga – our tamariki atawhai and ensuring their independent voice was heard within the care system. We have a range of roles that enable you to play a part in this exciting work.

Our work places the needs of the care experienced at the centre of all we do. Everyone at VOYCE – Whakarongo Mai, every day, strives to deliver to nine foundational principles as voiced by New Zealand’s care experienced young people.

WHAT YOUNG PEOPLE WITH CARE EXPERIENCE WANT OF VOYCE.

  • BUILD TRUST WITH ME
Provide a consistent listening ear and give me time to build strong relationships with the people from VOYCE who support me, in my way.

  • ALWAYS BE THERE FOR ME
I need to know someone will have my back no matter what, and will be there for me whenever I need them.

  • RESPECT ME
My voice and my opinion are important, so honour what I have said I want and need, and tell me what is happening.

  • SPEAK TO ME
Communicate in a way I understand – clearly, simply, honestly, and quickly.

  • KNOW ME
I need VOYCE people to know who I am without me needing to repeat my story.

  • VALUE ME
My care experience is unique and important, so support me to use this to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

  • EMPOWER ME
VOYCE services should be provided by the care community to the care community wherever possible.

  • SHOW ME
Show me what’s possible, and how my voice can change things in the care and protection system for the better.

  • CONNECT ME
Help me to form connections within the VOYCE network.
