On 5 December 2025, VOYCE hosted a Beauty Bash passive tūhono event, led by Kaiwhakamana (advocates) Jess and Cindy. This event was a chance to engage with rangatahi one last time before the Christmas break, sending out invitations for upcoming tūhono events in the new year and sharing festive Christmas cards.

The focus was on creating a positive, celebratory experience in a relaxed environment, reinforcing connection and excitement for future VOYCE events.

Rangatahi responses were full of cheer and gratitude:

  • “So cute, so petite”
  • “Thank you so much”
  • “Merry Christmas”
  • “Yay, so excited”

This Beauty Bash provided a joyful end-of-year connection, helping rangatahi feel valued, celebrated, and looking forward to more opportunities to tūhono with VOYCE in the new year.

Timely, accessible, and culturally conscious health and mental health services are available to all taiohi.

Promise Two: Stability

Young people in care experience consistency, safety, and a sense of belonging.

Whānau care is where a child is being raised by someone in their whānau or extended family. Often it means a child living with their grandparents – but could also be another family member like an aunt, uncle or older sibling. Whāngai is the traditional Māori practice of whānau care.
