Get Involved!

Welcome to VOYCE! We believe that everyone has the power to make a difference, no matter how old or young they are. If you want to get involved with VOYCE and be a part of making things better for other kids in care, here’s how you can do it.

Tūhono!

We have tūhono (connection events) all around the country. They’re a great way to meet other kids in care, know you’re not alone, and have some fun. If you’re interested in being invited to these events, sign up here, and we’ll make sure to message you the next time we have one organised.

If you’d like to be emailed a newsletter from VOYCE, sign up here! We will send you updates on what we’ve been working on and other fun things!

Tell us your ideas

If you have an idea about how to make things better for kids in care, let us know! Sometimes we might come to you to ask what you think about different things. You can let us know if you think something needs to change, if you have an idea for a tūhono, or anything else you think we should know. Your message will be sent to one of our team members and they will make sure to listen to what you have to say.

Whānau care is where a child is being raised by someone in their whānau or extended family. Often it means a child living with their grandparents – but could also be another family member like an aunt, uncle or older sibling. Whāngai is the traditional Māori practice of whānau care.
